The 50-Micron World: Crafting the Invisible
Imagine this: a circular piece about half the size of a 1-yen coin, with a thickness equivalent to just three sheets of cooking paper. Into this tiny world, we drilled holes—64 of them, arranged in an 8×8 grid.
Using a special drill thinner than a strand of hair, we attached it to our machine and went through countless trials and errors. After much effort, the work was completed. The final piece was then sent to an external institution for inspection under an ultra-precise microscope capable of capturing the micro world.
And this is the world of 50 microns. Zoom in to see!
①The precision of the 50μ holes is an astonishing ±2μ!
(For reference, the researchers assumed a tolerance of around 10μ. 😏)
②Even at 20x and 100x magnification, the circle is perfectly round!
(Honestly, I thought the holes would look distorted at 100x magnification, but that wasn’t the case!)
③And here’s the amazing part. There are 64 of these perfect holes!
Each one is evenly spaced with a 0.75mm pitch!
(At this point, I had no choice but to brag a little. And yes, I was praised. 😊)
